For decades, countless people have been blocked by the rules and norms of the corporate business world. Incredibly talented and qualified individuals have been overlooked, because they didn't have the right connections, access, or because they took time out of the workforce to start and care for their families.

The business world is being disrupted, and we're doing our small part to accelerate that change.

The Emerging ShadowHornet scholarship program selects 1 person per month to go through software product owner training to become a Certified Scrum Product Owner - an increasingly vital role in today's technology economy.

Our program involves: â€‹

  • A focus on identifying and helping promising talent overlooked by corporate employers

  • Training promising individuals as software product owners

  • A rigorous selection process, focused on underserved, underemployed, structurally disadvantaged communities

  • Selection of 1 candidate per month

  • Two days of training, after which the scholarship recipient tests for the Certified Scrum Product Owner certification

  • Ongoing mentoring and business networking support to put the power of our network behind scholarship recipients to attain their first technology job

  • No obligation or cost to recipients - our way of “paying it forward”

Sprint Planning

From 2022 - 2024 ShadowHornet awarded numerous scholarships to emerging career professionals, and aided Durham Technical Community College in North Carolina pilot an AI for Industry program to guide professionals about career options using AI. This collaboration became part of the foundation for DTCC's AI partnership with Duke Energy and BlueCross BlueShield.
