From 2022 - 2024 ShadowHornet awarded 14 scholarships to emerging career professionals, and aided Durham Technical Community College in North Carolina pilot an AI for Industry program to guide professionals about career options using AI. This collaboration became part of the foundation for DTCC's AI partnership with Duke Energy and BlueCross BlueShield. The program completed in June 2024.

The Emerging ShadowHornet scholarship program selects 1 person per month to go through software product owner training to become a Certified Scrum Product Owner - an increasingly vital role in today's technology economy.

Our program involves: ​

A focus on identifying and helping promising talent overlooked by corporate employers

Training promising individuals as software product owners

A rigorous selection process, focused on underserved, underemployed, structurally disadvantaged communities

Selection of 1 candidate per month

Two days of training, after which the scholarship recipient tests for the Certified Scrum Product Owner certification

Ongoing mentoring and business networking support to put the power of our network behind scholarship recipients to attain their first technology job
